What I bring to the Council
As a fourth generation Brookings County resident, I am deeply committed to the future of our city and the well-being of its people. As a City Council member I bring the following qualities:
  • Experience - As a current City Council member, a mother to a young family, and a professional in the non-profit sector I am able to bring an experienced voice to the decision-making process.
  • Transparency - The best government is a transparent government.  I will continue to foster an open dialogue with the community and make it easier for individuals to learn about the City Council's decision making process and make their voices heard.
  • Engagement - Brookings is filled with thoughtful, talented, and creative individuals. I will continue to foster a relationship with all members of the community to allow them to elevate their voice, ask questions of Council Members, share their ideas, and provide suggestions regarding our city.

My Focus
I believe each generation should pass along greater opportunities for the generation that follows.  To accomplish this I will continue to focus on the following:
  1. Champion transparency in local government – My commitment to openness and communication is unwavering. I will keep working to ensure that our city government remains accessible, transparent, and responsive to the needs of every resident.
  2. Foster a welcoming community – Brookings is home to people of all backgrounds and beliefs, and that diversity is our strength. I will continue to advocate for a community where everyone feels valued and heard, regardless of their differences.
  3. Support responsible growth and sustainability – I am committed to balancing economic development with social progress and environmental stewardship. By working together, we can build a future that is sustainable, prosperous, and resilient for generations to come.
